Are you a friendly, customer focussed individual, who strives to exceed expectations? Are you an inspirational leader who is focussed on driving sales and improving standards? We are looking for a Supervisor for our popular small hotel in Newcastle.


To be responsible for the day to day management of the reception in order to maximise room occupancy, revenue and yield in line with the projected revenue for the hotel. The Supervisor will also liaise with the housekeeping department to ensure that brand standards are met and maintained. They will fully understand the facilities, services and offerings of the hotel and maximise the associated revenue generating possibilities these present. They will ensure all legal, safety and standards are met and complied with. They will ensure that all members of the front of house team are fully trained in this culture and that it is a fundamental part of the operational strategy.


The Supervisor will manage the reception and team and coach and encourage them to success, exceeding guest expectations and meeting company standards and procedures. They will be able to anticipate guest’s needs and deliver a high level of guest satisfaction and loyalty whilst maintaining a professional level of service. They will also plan and schedule the staff rotas and the proper allocation of resources to reception and housekeeping departments.

  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory position within the reservations or reception functions
  • We are ideally looking for someone with experience of Hotel front office systems. Hotelier, Opera or Fidelio an advantage
  • Educated to higher level with a professional qualification or equivalent, ideally within a hotel management or related hospitality discipline
  • Robust people management and organisational and planning skills
  • High level of numeracy and literacy
  • A strong sense of commerciality and financial acumen
  • A passion for delivering great customer service and guest satisfaction
  • Computer literacy and a high level of competency within Microsoft Office programmes and hotel reservations systems
